Science and Technology Internship Programme (S&TIP) Get a Head: Start on your Career Directorate of science & Technology (DoST) under its development scheme “Establishment of Design Facilitation & Training Center in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” striving hard to build the capacity of common public and to impart professional, practical spirit in the youth. It is found that education alone is not enough to achieve the high performance indices in practical work environment. In order to achieve this mission DoST initiated Science and Technology Internship Programme (STIP) for the students of Science & Technology (Engineering: 70%, Others: 30%) in collaboration with various Government Departments/ Organizations. S&TIP is designed for the benefit of students of Science & Technology of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who have completed sixteen years of education from recognized universities or degree awarding institutions. The scheme is intended to provide work experience and capacity building of the students of S&T and also to keep them engaged and interested in acquiring additional knowledge and real work life experience, thereby facilitating their employability in the country. The program will also be beneficial for internship awarding organizations, having shortage of skilled professionals in various fields. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES The goal of the program is to harness the energy and motivation of educated youth as paid internees in the public/private sector. Aim is to improve in the performance of public/private sector through internship of young, educated and motivated youth; Enhanced employability and capacity of fresh graduates for a better professional future. MAIN FEATURES The internees will be working on various assignments in the public/private sector organizations; the placement with various government organizations will be based upon the academic qualifications of the internees and matching the broader academic disciplines. The internees will be required to join the program on full time basis and follow prescribed rules and regulations of the concerned organizations including observance of office working time and confidentiality requirements etc. DURATION The internship duration will be 03 months. STIPEND The internees will be entitled to a monthly stipend of Rupees five thousand (all inclusive) during the course of internship. The internship is however, in no way an offer of employment on a formal job . ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA • Students having 16 years of education in the field of Science & Technology from a HEC recognized university having 1st Division throughout his carrier. • Applicant must have domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. • Maximum Age limit is 30 years. for more info and application form: http://dost.gov.pk/index.php
